The program creates learning experiences to work on leadership, self-growth, character building, resilience, collaborating with others, making good judgements, pursuing goals, and preparing for life ahead. Each of these learning experiences are integrated into practice and playing sessions at First Tee Indiana. Chicago Golf Gals is an organization that hosts golf outings and practice sessions for beginner women and girls. The events value creating a fun and empowering atmosphere for women and girls who are interested in learning the sport. The Cacklebird Classic is charitable golf outing in Indiana that raises money and awareness for treating and preventing melanoma skin cancers. Skin cancer is more common than people perceive, and golfers are at risk from spending more time in the sun. The event also showcases products that are helpful in preventing melanoma skin cancers. The Steven Stenger Memorial Scramble is a golf event and silent auction that raises money for golf teams to cover season expenses as well as one scholarship for 1 graduating senior. The donations help pay for travel, golf clothing, practice equipment, and other golf-related expenses.
